Dr. Mathew D. Halls is a Senior Scientist at Materials Design, Inc. and is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas. Prior to joining Materials Design he was a senior scientist at Accelrys, Inc. Before that he held the prestigious E.R. Davidson Fellowship in theoretical chemistry at Indiana University and earlier was the Manager of the Scientific Simulation and Modeling Group at Zyvex Corporation. In his current role, Dr. Halls is a trusted advisor on the use of materials modeling techniques for clients in diverse industries including aerospace, electronics and specialty chemicals. His personal research focuses on using theory to analyze and optimize material systems for applications such as atomic layer deposition (ALD), organic semiconductors (OLED/OPV) and Li-ion batteries. He has over 41 journal publications, serves as a guest editor for the journal Molecular Simulation and has given multiple invited talks. He is a member of numerous professional organizations including APS, MRS, ACS and AAAS.
